A $34 diagnostic session: 45 minutes of dedicated one-on-one tutoring in math or English with a senior Keats tutor, in person at Lynn Valley or Kitsilano.
- Your child works with the tutor through grade-level material based on the BC curriculum, to see how they learn best, where the gaps are, and how to get them on track or ahead at school.
- You get a written learning plan: what they know, the gaps, what comes next. The written learning plan is gone over with you right after the session, or emailed within 24 hours.
- We go through it with you after the 45 minutes and recommend one or two hours a week of Keats Membership if it is the right fit. If your child does not need tutoring, we will tell you.

Questions about the session
What happens after the Learning Plan Session?
We recommend one or two hours a week of Keats Membership in math or English and confirm a weekly class time in writing. Membership is $199 per month per subject, for one full hour a week, plus GST. Two hours a week in the same subject is $349 per month.
Is the $34 credited toward membership?
No. The session is charged on its own and is not credited toward membership.
Can I book private one-on-one tutoring after the session?
The Learning Plan Session itself is one-on-one, 45 minutes with a senior tutor. After it, the recommendation is Keats Membership, a shared private class with a tutor and a tutor assistant for every 4 to 6 students. We ran private tutoring for more than a year and stopped offering it, because a student who depends on one tutor loses ground when that tutor moves on, and a class built around a written plan does not.
Why is the session $34 and not free?
Because it is a real 45-minute tutoring session with a senior tutor, and you leave with a written plan for your child. Free assessments are usually a sales conversation. This is not.
Can the session cover both math and English?
Each session covers one subject. If you want a plan for both, book two sessions.
Do I need to stay during the session?
Students focus best with the tutor on their own, so drop off and come back after the 45 minutes. We go through the plan with you then.
