Our commitment to making this site, our materials, and our tutoring practice accessible — and how to tell us when we fall short.

Our commitment. Tutoring should work for every student and every family. We design our site, our materials, and our space to be usable by people with a wide range of abilities — and we keep working on it.

1. Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the international standard adopted by the Government of Canada and the BC Accessible Canada Act framework. We test against this standard for every meaningful site change.

2. What we've done

On this site

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy.
  • Keyboard-navigable controls with visible focus states.
  • Text contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG AA on body copy and interactive elements.
  • Descriptive alt text on informative images; decorative images marked appropriately.
  • Form fields with persistent labels (no label-only-as-placeholder).
  • Resizable text up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • Reduced-motion support — animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting.

In our tutoring practice

  • Tutors are briefed on accommodations parents disclose at enrolment.
  • Booklets are available in large-print on request.
  • Sessions can be conducted online for students with mobility or transport barriers.
  • Our North Vancouver location is on a single accessible level with washroom access.

3. Known limitations

We are honest about what's not yet perfect:

  • Some older PDF resources do not yet have full screen-reader tagging — we are remediating these on a rolling basis. If you need an accessible version of any document, email us and we'll send one within five business days.
  • Embedded third-party video players occasionally lag on caption coverage; we add captions to all primary marketing videos directly.

4. Tell us if something doesn't work

Accessibility is a moving target and we appreciate the help. If you encounter a barrier on this site or in any of our materials, please contact us:

Please tell us where you ran into the issue, the device or assistive technology you were using, and what you expected to happen. We respond within five business days and aim to resolve confirmed barriers within 30 days.

5. Accommodations for students

We welcome students with learning differences, attentional differences, and physical disabilities. Parents and guardians are invited to share accommodation information at enrolment so we can pair the right tutor and adjust pacing, materials, or delivery as needed. Disclosure is voluntary and confidential.

6. Formal review

This statement is reviewed at least annually and after any significant site or curriculum change. The "last updated" date above reflects the current review.

7. Compliments and complaints
